Bunkyo Campus Open for our Senior School Students (G10-G12) 25 January 2022

We are so excited to announce the opening of our Bunkyo Campus.  We welcomed our Senior School students and teachers today.

After years of planning and preparation, and many months of renovation, it is with great pleasure that we were able to open the doors to our new campus.  This campus will be home to our G10 – G12 students, as they prepare for the world after Aoba.

As previously announced, Bunkyo Gakuin University Girls Junior & Senior High School and Aoba-Japan International School have reached an agreement to collaborate on educational matters that are mutually beneficial to both schools.

We contracted Kosuke Bando Architects, the same team that led the Hikarigaoka renovation project, to renovate a school building of Bunkyo Gakuin University Girls Junior & Senior High School .  Every room has been purposefully designed, including our multi-purpose cafe, theater room, exhibition room, classrooms, presentation rooms, science room, recording studios, VR room and small meeting and study rooms .

The morning started off with an introduction to the new campus by Dr. Ken Sell, Head of Schools, followed by students exploring their new learning spaces through a fun Scavenger Hunt organized by the Student Council.  The afternoon was then followed by a virtual school tour led by 3 G11 students, hosted for our parents.

A virtual tour is in the making for the greater public, and to be posted soon.
