Full-Time PYP Teacher

Location: Hikarigaoka Campus
Employment Type: Full Time
Start Date: August 2020
Position description: As part of the school’s teaching team, the teacher leads and manages all aspects of development; delivery, evaluation, ongoing improvement, promotion and school community involvement related to classroom teaching and associated duties.

As a member of the PYP, the Teacher is expected to:

  1. employ a transdisciplinary pedagogy, deliberately and consistently making meaningful connections between, across and beyond subjects to support the understanding of real-world issues
  2. implement the school’s pedagogical framework by planning/selecting strategies to best support the process of inquiry
  3. foster the development of assessment capability among all members of the learning community

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  1. Certified teacher with undergraduate and/or postgraduate qualification in appropriate field(s)
  2. Effective inquiry pedagogy and communication skills
  3. Demonstrated competency to work effectively in a team
  4. Demonstrated competency to innovate and solve problems in collaboration with others
  5. Demonstrated competency for timely, flexible and empathetic responsiveness/li>
  6. Current and operational Blended Learning skills
  7. Experience working in international schools
  8. IB- PYP experience would be an advantage
  9. Native or fluent level of English

ICT Support Specialist

Location: Hikarigaoka Campus
Employment Type: Full Time

Summary: As part of the school technology team, the ICT Support Specialist is responsible for providing end user technical support to school staff, students, and families, including training on education technology tools. The ICT Support Specialist works with other members of the technology team to ensure the development and delivery of education technology infrastructure, services, and support solutions that help facilitate and improve school operations and education delivery.

Technology Integration Specialist

Location: Hikarigaoka Campus
Employment Type: Full Time
Start Date: Immediately
Summary: Under the supervision of the Director Of Technology, the essential function of the Technology Integration Specialist is to facilitate the integration of technology in Pre-K-12 education with an emphasis on technology blended learning environments. The Technology Integration Specialist provides ongoing professional development related to integrating technology within the core curriculum areas, models effective instructional strategies using technology, and leads discussions with teachers on the latest research on technology integration. The Technology Integration Specialist has a specific emphasis on working with educators to ideate, develop, and deliver programs and learning experiences via the school’s blended learning environment using Canvas LMS, G Suite for Education, and other education technology tools. The Technology Integration Specialist also assists program directors in the development and delivery of education technology programs and services including A-JIS After School Programs, Computer Science curriculum, and more.

Substitute Teacher

Location: Aoba Japan International School Hikarigaoka Campus
Summary: enthusiastic substitute teachers (primary and secondary teachers) to work in a dynamic collaborative environment who are available for daily / short term supply or long-term absences.

A-JIS will be increasing student numbers in its Early Years and Secondary Years programs over the next two years. We are looking for experienced educators who have a demonstrated capacity to effectively collaborate, innovate and teach.
