Trip to the Museum of Modern Art 22 February 2018

How can we express more with less? Gr 9 & 10 have been inquiring about the artistic conventions in Zen and Minimalist art and to offer them opportunities to learn outside the school, the art department has organized a visit to The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo who is presenting The Joy of Life, a retrospective of Kumagai Morikazu’s artwork.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to appreciate Kumagai Morikazu journey as an artist. They collected relevant information to complete a short essay about how Morikazu was influenced by Modern art and developed a very minimalistic style.
