A Message from our Principals to our Families 2 March 2020

Dear Families,

We are sincerely appreciative for the cooperation and positive spirit that defines Aoba, more than ever in times like this. As you know, Aoba closed our physical campuses in line with the Japanese government’s request to help combat the spread of COVID-19, and we decided that due to our three-year research collaboration with Southern Cross University into Blended Learning we were well placed to move learning online.

This morning we held a 120-person Google Meeting to start the week. We will hold one each Monday morning before school starts for the week, and another each Friday after school finishes, to ensure thorough communication between the faculty and leadership.

We are pleased to report that all our teachers were well prepared to take their teaching online, and that today has run quite smoothly, given the circumstances. We are keeping careful track of students, assignments, and learning, and throughout the time that we are online, Aoba’s Admissions & Marketing Team will be using that information to share examples with all of you of the learning that is taking place, to help you understand how we are helping your students learn in this novel circumstance.

We remain committed to providing leading educational opportunities for our students, and thank you for your trust in us.

Kind regards,
Paul, Sachiko, on behalf of the full Pedagogical Leadership Team
