Relocation of the senior school campus: Educational Collaboration with Bunkyo Gakuin University Girls Junior & Senior High School 15 June 2020

Due to consistent student enrollment growth over the last five years, our Hikaraogaoka campus has reached its capacity. To enable all our students to remain at Aoba Japan International School, we plan to relocate our senior school (grades 9 to 12). During the previous two years, we have searched Tokyo city for suitable facilities.

We are delighted to be able to share with you our progress to date.

Bunkyo Gakuin University Girls Junior & Senior High School and Aoba -Japan International School have reached an agreement to collaborate on educational matters that are mutually beneficial to both two schools.

As both schools share the same mission and purpose to nurture global talent and international-minded learners, we believe the collaboration will realise positive outcomes for our school community and in particular.

Within the context of collaboration, Aoba has been considering to relocate its secondary section to Bunkyo Gakuin University Girls Junior & Senior High School campus in Komagome (http://www.hs.bgu.ac.jp/in the summer of 2021.

As both parties have recently agreed on the outline of subleasing conditions for such a relocation, we have started the official procedure to receive the approval from the Bunkyo City Government.

Upon relocation, new Komagome campus (tentative) of Aoba Japan International School will be a state of the senior art school focusing on developing global leadership capability, entrepreneurial disposition and an innovative mindset. It will have state of the art facilities providing a globally-connected network to higher education institutions and organisations.

As we are in the middle of the legal process to receive official approval from the government, please be informed that there is a possibility for us to change the timelines and details in the future.

As the process of collaboration continues we will provide updates and information.
