Meeting with IB Organisation Director-General Ollipekka Heinonen 16 September 2022

On 12 September 2022, the Secretary General of the International Baccalaureate Organisation Ollipekka Heinonen, who is visiting Japan met with the leadership team of Aoba- Japan International School (‘Aoba’).

Since 2018, Aoba has been commissioned by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to promote International Baccalaureate education in Japan, and has been working on the Secretariat of the Consortium for the Promotion of IB Education of the MEXT.

During the interview, Aoba reported on the project results achieved through the consortium’s activities to date. In addition, Mr Ollipekka expressed his gratitude for Aoba’s dedication through the consortium activities.

Aoba will continue to work with the MEXT and the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) to further promote IB education in Japan.
