Family Day – Autumn Celebration! 15 November 2024

Aoba-Japan International School hosted a heartwarming Family Day, bringing together our diverse community for a vibrant autumn-themed festival. The event was a joyful celebration of cultural diversity, with families sharing the traditions, flavors, and experiences that make our school truly international.

The campus came alive with the aroma of home-cooked dishes from countries such as Australia, Hong Kong, and Poland. Parents and children alike donned traditional attire, from elegant Korean hanbok and Japanese kimono to intricate Indian traditional costumes, which added vibrant colors and textures to the event. Families creatively showcased their cultural identities, making the day a feast for the eyes and soul. Adding to the fun, a dynamic K-pop street-style dance activity invited everyone to join in, fostering connection through music and movement.

Students embraced their roles as gracious hosts, transforming the campus into a playground of creativity and learning. Game booths lined the grounds, offering fun challenges for all ages, while cozy pop-up movie theaters showcased films made by our talented students. Each movie reflected their creativity and cultural perspectives, adding a personal touch to the celebration.

A particularly enriching aspect of the day was the cultural presentations, where families and students proudly shared traditions, stories, and performances from their home countries. These exchanges provided a window into the rich tapestry of cultures within our community, deepening our appreciation for the diversity that makes Aoba so special.
