Our “program of inquiry” class, where kindergarten and G1 students jointly engage in learning a single theme across different subjects, was introduced. This is a feature of the PYP (Primary Years Programme) of the International Baccalaureate (IB). Students are learning about “means of transport” through role playing. What do you ride when you go to Disneyland? Why?

The G2 Math class was shown. There are many scenes where you can see students teaching their classmates; this is a feature of the PYP of the IB which stresses not only the importance of one’s own learning but also the importance of being able to convey to others, what you learned in a manner that is easy to understand.

The program took up the K4 “Show and Tell” time. Every day, a couple of children bring to school anything they like from their home and make a presentation on them during homeroom time before the end of the day. On this particular day, a child bringing a stuffed toy is explaining about the stuffed toy’s character. There were many questions from the classmates.

May 10th

This time, the coverage was on our cafeteria. Many different kinds of food are prepared for students from different countries. Everyone is enjoying the food which is not only tasteful but also nutritiously balanced. Individual needs for students with allergies or religiously prohibited foods are also catered for, which is reassuring.
